About Me

My work sits at the intersection of mindfulness and intentional living

My name is Klaye Foster, and I’m the founder of The Change System.

By background, I’m a systems engineer. I’ve spent years working in systems infrastructure, studying how complex systems are built, how they break, and what it really takes to change them from the inside out. That way of thinking has shaped everything for me, and not just in my everyday work experience.

At some point, the most interesting system I could study became the one I was already living inside: my own mind, body, the nervous system, and the invisible patterns that quietly run our lives.

That curiosity pulled me toward meditation and mindfulness almost 20 years ago, and I haven’t stopped since. It also pulled me toward philosophy, neuroscience, ancient wisdom traditions, and every place where the science of the mind and the study of the self overlap. I’m genuinely fascinated by how we work. How the brain learns, how the nervous system responds, how thought becomes habit and habit becomes identity. And what it takes to actually shift any of it.

Outside of this work, my partner Nina and I are both photographers and creatives. We travel the world together, photographing and filming our lifestyle, our experiences, and the places we move through. We share all of it on our blog, Zen and Bae Life. It’s a creative life built on purpose, and it’s the same life this work comes out of. Real experience, documented in real time.

What My Work Is About

Most self improvement advice focuses on effort and motivation. Do more. Push harder. Stay disciplined.

What it often misses is what’s happening underneath. Where attention drifts., how habits quietly reinforce themselves, and how emotional patterns shape decisions long before we’re ever aware of them.

This work focuses on understanding that layer by taking a  mindful approach, used in a way to help see what is happening more clearly. To help us slow down automatic reactions, and make more intentional choices in everyday life.

Here you’ll find writing, conversations, courses, and coaching designed to support lasting change through awareness, clarity, and learning how to work with your mind instead of constantly pushing against it.

Mindfulness and Intentional Living: What I Believe

That systems lens never left me. It just shifted from software to something much closer to home: the human mind, the body, the nervous system, and the deeper patterns that shape how we think, feel, and act.

My approach to understanding that sits at the intersection of three things:

Ancient wisdom shows us the way. Traditions that have been quietly mapping the inner landscape for thousands of years, long before neuroscience had a vocabulary for what they were describing.

Science helps us verify. Research on the brain, the nervous system, mindfulness, and behavior gives us a framework for understanding why these practices work and how to apply them with more precision.

Direct experience is where it all becomes real. No teaching fully lands until you’ve lived it. That’s the part that can’t be skipped.

Together, these three form the foundation of everything I do here.

What This Work Is About

Most personal growth advice focuses on the surface: habits, routines, motivation, discipline. And those things matter. But what often gets missed is the layer underneath: the automatic patterns, the nervous system responses, the emotional conditioning that’s been quietly shaping your decisions long before you’re even aware of it.

This work is about learning to see that layer clearly.

Mindfulness, practiced consistently over time, is one of the most powerful tools we have for doing that. Not as a relaxation technique. As a way of developing real awareness of what’s actually happening inside you, so you can begin to respond differently. More intentionally. More freely.

With almost 20 years of daily practice, I’ve seen what this kind of awareness can change. Not just in quiet moments, but in relationships, in creative work, in the way you handle difficulty, in the kind of life you’re able to build.

That’s what I’m here to explore with you.

The Mission

A long time ago, during a meditation session, a voice came through loud and clear. It wasn’t my own. It didn’t feel like a thought I was having. It felt like an instruction, clear and direct: Be a Bodhisattva.

I’ve been sitting with that ever since. What it means. What it asks of me. What it actually looks like to live it. Not as a religious label, but as an orientation. A commitment to showing up fully in service of something larger than yourself.

My mission is to show what it looks like to live a life guided by purpose, love, compassion, and focus. To demonstrate, not just describe, what becomes possible when ancient wisdom, modern understanding, and genuine inner work come together in a real human life.

That’s what The Change System is. And it’s what I’m building through every piece of this work, including my production company Eat Sleep Kreate.

How to Engage With This Work
